STIMULUS PLAN 2 (HEROES ACT) HAS JUST BEEN PASSED BY THE HOUSE

Heroes Act aka Stimulus Plan 2 has been passed by the house and is not headed towards the Senate which critiqued it extensively and noted that it would never pass.

That in turn means that the Senate will propose it’s own bill next week, which will head back to House and only then to the president to be signed into law.

In an unlikely case Senate does vote and pass this Stimulus Plan (All Reps voted agains while all Dems voted for it), it will head towards President’s desk to be signed into law some time closer towards the end of May.

  1. There’s MUCH more to this bill than “help for the little guys” .. I don’t think this bill will even last a second in the Senate

  2. I could be wrong but the most important part of the heroes act seems to be to support the stay at home for a smaller group of the population.

At least that’s how I look at it. My profession (massage therapy) as an exemple is on that should be allowed to wait before going back to work. Because the alternative is that people would be ok with mitigating a situation less than necessary.

I for one don’t want to be responsible for the death of one of my clients.

Sone massage therapists right now though feel pressured to go back to work.

The heroes act could, with many other things, allow some of my peers to delay going back to work till January.,

If not they could be forced to be responsible to create outbreaks unwillingly by reopening too early.

Some business owners are also pressured to reopen because they don’t have the ressources to feel safe economically to delay a little bit longer.

Mitigation is simply not something I feel morally able to do in this pandemic as a professional massage therapist.

    I am not a doctor.

    I am not essential.

    Yet I am appreciated.

    Like a good haircut.

    It has its use.

I am just one exemple of an industry that would benefit from the heroes act.

    Education is another.

I have kids. I not just a small business owner.

    More than a rant it’s a perspective.

And it’s more than politic it’s civic responsibility.

We are more than mere business owners.

We are one of the component of the fabric of the social life.

Our values and principles are living hand in hand with our professionalism and servicing and being of help and use to our communities.

Now I am not a politician so I don’t know eceactly everything about the heroes act.

All I am saying is that I could use a little bit more time to reassess my 10 years old business that is possibly in great need of tinkering and creative overhaul in order to alleviate a part of the community.

And I am also possibly a bit clingy with my career and a dream I hold on so dear.

  3. Just another bunch of crap from politicians. I do not care what side they are on they have all shown their true colors through all of this.

  4. All Democrats did not vote for it. I believe 14 voted no. So that should tell you something.

  5. They need to add rules in place for the additional 600/week and extending it to January 2021. Heck, I want to shorten the extension to September. People WILL take advantage of free hand out and use covid-19 as an excuse to stay at home.

There needs to be check and balance that will prevent people’s greed and laziness. The nation needs to start flowing again.
