So I’ve bitten the bullet and started my own business. This is all new to me and extremely scary not having a business background. Is there anyone you guys would recommend to look over my poor excuse of a business plan that you guys trust?

I’ve been in small electronics repair all my life(phones, computers, game consoles). I’ve worked at some big names (Apple, Geek squad) but mainly for mom and pop local repair shops. I’ve been in this field for over 17+ years and I’ve ran many shops with great success. The shop I worked for closed down in January and as a result I took a shot and formed my own business… then covid hit.. I had planned on getting some retail space as my city has experienced a giant boom in traffic and business from the movie industry filming here. I took the time to write a business plan to the best of my ability and hundreds of YouTube videos later I think I have a crude plan put together I just don’t know how crude it seems. I have an business plan, marketing strategy, all the incorporation is done, business licenses, social media, designed all my business cards, made shirts, got advertising locally, got all my tools.. but the thing I need most is capital for inventory and a space to work. I know there has been talk about trying to boost business with the economy how it is currently and I hope to take advantage of starting up with SBA.gov.
Anyone that would be willing to just look at what I have or point me in the right place for help would be a godsend.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

  1. Just a word of advice. Get a bookkeeper to come by part time and a CPA to do your taxes. I tried doing these on my own at first to save money, in the long run it definitely cost me time and deductions.

  2. Congratulations! Sounds like you have a great background. Besides getting a good bookkeeper like somebody already mentioned, the most important thing you can do is being good at lead generation. Most of your day should be spent at getting leads, closing said leads and selling – networking. That is the lifeblood of your business. And once you grow, then you can hire a sales person but in the meantime, hustle your butt to get leads and to sell. If you’re not good at sales learn how to do it.

  3. I’d be happy to look. PM me the deets

One question: is this an executed plan or just what you think will happen?

  4. I don’t mean any disrespect…

Apple does not tolerate “partners”, outside of the “loop”.

Surely you know that, given your personal life experiences with the company to this point. 🙂

There’s a clear barrier to entry, that you have personally experienced, and know you can never “overcome” on your own.

Why do you keep coming back to that?

At what point is it time to break the cycle? 😉
