A common problem found on military bases today is crowding. This isn’t due to a higher than normal number of folks in army service, but base closures that have forced more personnel onto fewer bases. A smaller number of bases have to support more housing and services than ever seen before. So more folk live and work, with their youngsters attending school, in a smaller area than most military staff had to deal with in times past.
